Day 462

So this transfer, I'll try to do at least 2 area splits per week (our city has 3 areas). Basically, everyone will get to know all of the areas a little bit.

This week was productive, we had 4 investigators at church yesterday. Maria, who a member couple has been bringing to church this last month, prayed for and got an answer about baptism! It's just that her dad (her mom isn't a member) wants to baptize her in another city, Uruguaiana, about 3-4 hours from here.

We'll have to see more about logistics, but the ordinance is all the same, so location doesn't matter that much... she'll just have to travel back on the same day to be confirmed a member in our branch. I have a good feeling that everything will work out.

What's neat is that the couple she goes to church with here are the Southern Brasil area consultants for family history. Maria's already familiar with the Church so they went right to the point, bearing their testimonies about family history and the temple during our family home evening with them.

Funny thing is that on that same night, Maria was saying things like "well, if you somehow convinced me to be baptized...", "if somehow I decided to follow this path..." etc. And just a few days later she had complete certainty about baptism! That's prayer, and the importance of members. I can guarantee that if it were just us two and her during the lesson she wouldn't have decided to be baptized. Several other missionaries had already taught her, a long line of Sisters and Elders over the years.

So that's this week's miracle.

We bought rainboots after a miserable night of nonstop heavy rain. Umbrellas only go so far, don't stop soaked socks and fight. I also bought 2 pairs of wool socks, it’s getting really cold here, next month is winter in full force.

Until next week,
Spencer
