Day 154

We taught someone thanks to an investigator we'd been trying to reach. The house was empty except for a man who we'd seen before but still didn't know.

He had next to zero interest until he realized I'm American: "I speak English too!" He does! So I spoke to him in English for a bit. We managed to finish the lesson (in Portuguese), but in response to our invitations he told us that he only prays when he needs to and doesn't see the need to go to church.

We left him with a prayer and were off walking for maybe five minutes when we heard someone sprinting up to us:

(in Portuguese) "Would you like to come inside for some coffee?" We passed, but we'll be back sometime, because sister-in-law is one of our investigators. We're pretty sure he just wants to practice his English, but if it turns out he really does have a real intention to learn more (about the Gospel), even better!

The Church seems to be having some server issues. Email wasn't working until a few minutes ago, neither for the other missionaries here.

Also, here's a photo: There used to be a train here. Sadly, it, and the tracks as well have been replaced with a bicycle trail...

the tractor is the closest thing to a museum here, and it's right outside of our house, so here's another photo of it...
