Day 427

This week was kind of rough but we managed to come out with some good results. Paulo, one of our principal investigators (the former Jehovah´s Witness) seems to have vanished from the face of the earth, his dog isn't even at his house so maybe he's traveling.

We managed to bring some people to church for their first time. One, a woman who *contacted the missionaries* on the street, looking for help to overcome her addiction to cigarettes. She's been an investigator ever since I first got here in São Gabriel, but she finally came to church yesterday. We've already taught almost everything by this point, and at times we were on the verge of stopping our visits (because it was over a month of visits without any progress) but for whatever reason we always felt like one more chance was worth a shot, and we were proved right this Sunday.

The other's a young woman named Camile, we found her family just this week while contacting an old address.
They moved here recently, and they (Camile, her sister Cassandra and their mother Geovane) they immediately accepted the commitment to visit the Church of Jesus Christ. Only Camile ended up being able to go. On the way to church (20-25 min) I asked her if she managed to finish the reading assignment we had marked in the Introduction to the Book of Mormon (last 2 paragraphs) and she told us she'd already read all of the Introduction. Good start!

We had lunch at a member's ranch this week, he has a lot of axes (we cut firewood).
